PHOTOS OF LOCAL CULTURE.

Daanbantayan consists of a huge geographical area that is made up of small cultural-political groups.  Almost every month one or more of the groups will have a festival.  In fact, it seems like there is at least one festival going on at almost all times.  Each area has its own "costumes" and "dances," and they compete with each other to see who can do a better job of "entertaining."  The following photos were all taken last year (2007) in Daanbantayan.

THE FOLLOWING "CULTURAL" PHOTOS WERE ALSO TAKEN IN 2007.

This kind of "FREEDOM" is totally lacking in America.  My Asian friends can hardly believe that this would be against the law in most western countries.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO BURYING THE DEAD:  The following photos were taken at a Cemetery that is located just a few kilometers from SKIP'S BEACH RESORT.

A COCKFIGHT -- APPROXIMATELY 300' FROM SKIP'S BEACH RESORT:

Many more cultural photos will be added within a few days.

During times of war, hatred becomes quite respectable, even though it often masquerades under the guise of patriotism.”
